Win the West - My plan that I think could help the Rangers win the AL West in 2011

Pitching

I start with pitching because this has been a point of contention with not getting to sign Cliff Lee. I wish him the best, but we have a staff to shore up now. I think two signings or a signing and a trade would get us to a good enough staff to win the West again. Step one is getting a number 2 starter.

CJ Wilson had a fantastic season. I remember watching him dominate the Royals in his complete game in the Ballpark this year. I mention that game not only because it was a beautiful night for baseball but because of who he faced, Zach Greinke. I knew that day in May, I believe, that he was going to an anchor on our staff. In 2011 I would love to see if Greinke has what it takes to be our number 2 or possibly 1 if Greinke has another Cy Young season. CJ does, however, deserve to get the ball opening versus the Red Sox.

If we cannot get Greinke, I would like to trade for Matt Garza or sign Carl Povano. Povano had a good season last year and still has something left, I wouldn't go more than 2 years with him though. Garza is hit and miss, but I think working with someone who has a work ethic like CJ could help get the best out of him, and he is still young enough to be had long term.

As for our own little AL Rookie of the Year, Neftali Feliz, I would like to see him move into our rotation. He came up in our system as a front line starter and some scouts still says he has the stuff to be an ace. My friends seem to have a romanticized view that he could be the next Mariano Rivera. While I think he can be as dominant, closers work 70 innings a year, a starter could do 220 innings. Now for Nefty, I would like to see him do no more than 160 innings in the regular season though. It seems the Rangers are exploring this, I could only say this, just at least give him the chance. We saw what happened with CJ this year and now Nefty would have that role model to not only ask advice, but the man (CJ) is a leader and can help him along the way.

So to replace our closer, I would love to see us take a plunge and sign Rafael Soriano. He was an almost shut down closer for the AL East champ Tampa Bay Rays and I think could flourish in Texas too. I know he commanding a price right now, but I think he fits that role well, better than Feliz even and is veteran enough to just plug in almost east night in the 9th.

Bullpen options are dicey and that is something I really know nothing about other than we need Francisco back. Ogando looked sharp even in the playoffs, so those two in the bullpen with Soriano closing, I would be totally comfortable with. As for minor league talent that could fill in, I would look to Jamey Newbergs awesome work on his website for our farm system.

Infield

We have two great defensive players in the center in gold-glove snub Elvis Andrus and Ian Kinsler proved he was more than a bat this year. Just look at what happened when he was out and we had the likes of Spider Arias, Blanco that guy from Washington I couldn't even remember his name and (ugh) Cantu (cantdo). He stepped up in the playoffs as well, so that made me feel good about him even more.

Problem is we have a huge hole at third and two options at first that can work. I think Mitch Moreland proved himself as an offensive entity and I saw great improvement in his stretch and his "athleticism" on some catches were spectacular. I still like Chris Davis better defensively, but for the life of him he cannot hit big league stuff. So I think Mitch could be our everyday player. As for Third, I think it is time to move Young out. It sucks, I know, but he is so frustrating to watch there. That is why I think we should bring in Adrian Beltre, which would kind of offset us losing a first round pick because we got the one (two really) in the Cliff Lee signing. Then we could move Young to DH for most days and as a good enough backup at third and first. Plus that saves us from having to sign a DH which could save between 2-5 million, so that kind of pays for itself. Now if we could move Young, that would be great finically, but I don't see that happening, so this is a way to get him out of third, get a better defensive replacement with some pop and keep him in the organization.

Outfield

We of course have two stud bats in the outfield that hopefully can stay more healthy this next year, and I think having a couple of great assets can help alleviate some of the problems we have had with injury.

Murphy proved he could be an everyday outfielder, but would be tough to see in center. I think Borbon is a good regular season centerfielder, but does not have the bat to be near a playoff roster as a position player. So a combination of the two of them in center with Murphy picking up spots where Josh and Nelly will be injured at some point during the season. Plus Moreland can play right if necessary and Mike Young at first in extreme cases.

The Deals That Would Get us There in 2011:
Sign Adrian Beltre and move Michael Young to DH.
Trade for Greinke/Garza or sign Povano.
Sign Rafael Soriano to be our closer and give Neftali a shot at the rotation.

In summation, I think three not far fetched deals could get us to contend in the AL West this year again, and if we have the same good fortune, it could help us beat the favored Sox or Yankees in the AL to play the NL team that could very well be Cliff Lee's Phillies.

Dr Dre Beat the Holy Hell out of a woman and Richard Hunter thinks it is okay to continue to use his products.

Richard Hunter (www.richardhuntershow.com) is a great afternoon political talk show host on AM 1360 Dallas 4-6 PM. He is an avid user and promoter of the Beats by Dr. Dre Headphones. I contend because Dr. Dre beat the holy shit out of a woman, we should not reward his psychotic behavior by purchasing and promoting said headphones. I have tried to communicate this to him via e-mail, then started tweeting each day last week to get him to talk about this on air, he finally did, but of course misconstrued my point and does not seem to care that Dr. Dre plead no contest to this brutally vicious crime.

Here is my side since Richard likes to poorly summarize my position and doesn't let me on the phone to counter two days in a row when I am on hold for 25 minutes. Also, the Wiki about this is Here and the Cracked Article: 7 Beloved Celebrities and the Awful Shit You Forgot they did where I found about it. They use the term Beloved, Forgot and Celebrity loosely on most of them. I contend that a premeditated brutal beating of a person, let alone a woman is psychotic behavior. Richard does not. I put it on par with killing a dog because Dr Dre had all intentions of intimidating this Dee Barnes woman. So with that, I believe his use of Dr. Dre (appropriately named) Beats headphones is inexcusable. Especially be he extols the virtues of them constantly.

Please reply tweet him (@HunterShow) to ask him to stop using these headphones on his show and get rid of them appropriately. Also, you can friend him on Facebook and ask that he do the same. I will be doing this each day before his show until he does. Please help me do the same.

My Daily Tweet: @huntershow Why do U believe a vicious, premeditated beating of a person is OK? Because U continue 2 use his products. http://bit.ly/3Ih2KZ

Kelly ,

While I agree I have poor communication skills, I did get you to bring it up. As far as my inferences, that is probably not what I meant, but as you said, via 140 characters, it is difficult to convey a point. I did not know about what he did either. I had found this out when I did had e-mailed it to you in a story along with Pugs and Kelly. They talked about it on air and you did not. I then e-mailed you again asking you to talk about it. I did that a few times, you did not bring it up, so last week I started Tweeting it to get others to see it and you to see it as well. While you may think that there is a certain point of logic there, that is where you are wrong. I am merely stating when you take a moral stance, where you are saying to people "If you watch the NFL, then you like it more than your dog" it paints you into a corner. That is why people like Jeff try to bust you on any one thing you may say. I am not trying to do that, but I am trying to push a point, same as you are doing. While you have the ability to do that with your radio station, I have the same to do it via Twitter. And I successfully got it at least spoken by you where before I got no response. I didn't say you were no better than Vick, I am saying that you inferred that people don't like their dogs if they watch the NFL, I am saying you would rather listen to your headphones and beat a woman than not.

While I have have no dog, I don't buy into your logic. You also don't agree that a premeditated, vicious beating of a person, let alone a woman is psychotic. I do. I think there is something wrong with that person just as much as Vick and I agree they need help. So I do see them as one in the same. Same with Joe Francis. You don't see what he did as something bad. But upon seeing the video, I believe he did. Not even just because it is a woman, I am against violence period, I think there are certain ways to solve things, and he of all people should know that with his security. Even if he didn't do anything, he could have just walked straight to his security personnel and solved the situation without pulling her to the ground by grabbing her hair and dragging her. That was uncalled for retaliation.

Those are points that you will not bring up as well, you get pretty defensive and either change the subject, or point out something else. You are the king of the red herring. I don't know if that is for effect or a bit, but either way, that is how you handle things with P&K. And Kelly is the same, I don't know if she is doing a bit, but she is so uncomfortable bringing up anything to you, she avoids it like the NFL thing or Joe Francis because she doesn't want the fight. As far as mocking, again, could be bit, but P&K seem to point out that you think you are better for not watching the NFL. I have at least a few people, my wife and her best friend at work to point out a few, that stopped listening to you because you come of as a jerk when you mention it. While I don't completely agree with them, your email is dripping of condescension, especially the last line of your e-mail show that you feel some air of superiority over someone like me who watches the NFL. But just so you know, I am equally concerned about both politics and football. I may have said that on your facebook as a joke, but I read the newspaper and watch news everyday and am aware of what is going on besides just football, even though I am very knowledgeable of it. Also, I did do work for Obama, Martin Frost in 2004, Ken Bentsen's Senatorial primary run in 2002 and two of his other house election runs in 98 and 2000. So I would a) hardly find that "not getting off my ass" and b) it illustrates how much of an ass you trying to be. As far as the new Moore movie, I understand a lot of the things he has said in the movie, am fascinated by what you said about it, but just don't care much for his movies anymore. Fahrenheit 911 was the last movie of his I enjoyed. But just so you know, I would not stop listening to you even if I felt that, I do think you seem like you are of higher moral character because you do. And that is the reason I don't like most Christians if that draws any parallels. And juts dont assume you know me because you read things I post or say online, it is usually mocking or joking and that is a small sliver of my life. I probably know more about you because I listen everyday.

I don't think I said anything about you personally, so I don't get where that comes from. I may have said you were a hypocrite, but that is about it, and I believe it. As I said, I have done things against what I try to do, so I don't usually point it out to others. But like I said, your peerless stance leaves you susceptible to pointing out. I may have said some cruel things about Joe Francis, but they are deserved. He is a jackass and now I don't support him as I did before. I was concerned for him when he was in jail, and it is all for naught now. I could care less. Glad he is out of jail, but hope his company does poorly, but porn is another business where people are emotionally invested, so I doubt that will happen.

As for the Headphones, I was going to buy my wife a pair of either those of those Lady Gaga Heartbeats. But after reading that, I would not. Your line where you said you PROBABLY would not buy them either means you support Dr. Dre. I don't care that you get rid of yours. I hope that you will, but I doubt it because you will try to say that your wife already paid money for them or say its not as bad as Vick. People like myself who think it is just as bad will agree with me, and they will get that in my now more concise, once daily tweet until you get rid of them. I left work a little early today to get on the phone and clarify my points but you went on and on with Jeff. If you ever want to talk about it on air again, I can do that anytime after 5:30 on most days, so I look forward to doing that.

-Adam Reyna

P.S. I am sure there are plenty of grammatical errors and misspellings you can mock and distract me or others with because I did this as quickly as I could from my head to get everything out. I might have missed a few points, but feel i got out everything about where I am coming from.

Adam-

I can't take trying to decipher your convoluted logic in 140 character increments on Twitter, so let's try email. Here is where you are disconnected:

I am saying that torturing animals or people is psychopathic behavior, like serial killers. You will not find a psychiatrist who will put someone who strikes a woman, child, or animal (for example) on a level that rises to that of a psychopath. It is certainly objectionable behavior, but not what would be attributed to someone who is completely without empathy (see definition of psychopath). For example: Russ Martin and Michael Vick = not the same kind of bad. Russ Martin = bad, Michael Vick = diabolical. I certainly wouldn't want to work with Russ Martin again, or support him in any way, but he is not the same kind of deviant (as far as I can tell) that Michael Vick is. Therefore, he does not present the same continual liability to humanity that Vick does.

You bring up a good point with Dre in that what he did is inexcusable, and had I known about that I probably would not have purchased his headphones. However, rather than reach out to me to inform me of this story, you automatically treated me as though I knew about the story and just didn't care. The reason that I referenced the length of time that had passed since the incident was not because I think that qualifies for any leniency, but rather it was to point out that you sent me no link and acted as though this was something that was recently in the news. I wasted a bunch of time googling variations of "dr dre domestic abuse" and finding nothing because, again, you didn't even bother to explain who he assaulted. Then, you talked to me in a totally disrespectful manner until Pugs finally told me what the hell you were talking about, and that is ONLY because you somehow managed to mention HIM in all of you vague tweets so I finally had a source to go to.

Your problem is that you are taking a valid point that you could make, and because of your utter lack of communication skills, you overshadow your own point by attacking someone that you presumably want to listen to you by unleashing a bunch of inflammatory indictments in their direction.

Your final conclusion is that because I have Dr. Dre headphones, I am no better than Michael Vick. Your quote was "...unless u get rid of the headphones, Ur no better than who u mock". That is completely devoid of logic, and it is currently inspiring a round of disbelieving laughter with the guys here in the studio. You continue "(you are) hypocrtical in the sense that U are taking a moral stance against 1 thing and not another". By your logic (using the term loosely) everyone would be a hypocrite who doesn't take a moral stance on EVERYTHING. Which, I suppose, is a convenient way for you to continue to enjoy guilt free football without having to actually get off your ass and do anything. After all, we can't take a stand on everything, and we wouldn't want to be hypocrites, right? That sounds like a good reason to just sit there, tweeting your fantasy football concerns to the world. I choose to do something, and I suppose that is what is so off-putting to someone like you who rather than see Michael Moore's film on corporate corruption would rather "watch The Cowboys...Even if they lose again". That snapshot of apathy to the world around you in response to my Michael Moore post lives on my FB wall as a testament to how in the hell Wall Street deregulation happens right under our noses.

Eligible voters like you are busy concerning yourselves with 3rd down conversions. Please continue to keep us posted on those via Twitter.

The station with a moniker I will never be one of.

If that subject makes any sense, then kudos. You can read bad grammar Adam. But I will elaborate. It has been since Monday, but I have finally had some time to dwell on it, listen to some shows, and give me ultimate opinion. On Monday, my favorite radio station in the world, the one I listened to, at some points, pretty much all day from Jagger in the mornings until Big Dick Hunter at night, has flipped formats to an all sports theme. Now don't get me wrong, as most of you know, I am a rabid sports fan, in fact, one of the biggest I know. I not only love to watch sports, but I love to learn the history, hear the stories and love the mythical nature it can bring in normal people. But the whole concept of listening to sports all day is just asinine. Plus the concept of how you will listen to it is the same. It is 105.3 The Fan, which they say is a caller driven concept.

First of all, who cares what other fans think about your sports. Yeah, sometimes you will get an okay opinion and maybe a caller who has an IQ above his shoe size, but 9 times out of ten it is some good ol' boy Bubba who has little else to say besides "Hey man, that Tony Romo sucks man." I honestly don't care to listen to it, nor will I partake in it. From time to time it is okay, as it has been done on the station before. Sometimes an hour or so devoted to sports talk, and that is about all that I can handle, and that is only if it is about the Cowboys. If it is Mavericks, Stars or worse, the Rangers, I could care less, and I did tune out in those times. But now I am tuning out for good. If I wanted sports, I would rather a long-time sports writer whose opinion I respect give me news and commentary on sports, even if I don't agree, it is usually a well thought out opinion. That is why I listen to Pardon the Interruption, Around the Horn and Football Today. Three shows that are all podcast from ESPN with reputable people hosting them, not Bubba who thinks Jessica Simpson is hexing the Cowboys.

More than anything, I feel betrayed that even though some shows have said they will not change, have. No matter how much you say that they have not, they have. Whether it is Jagger with his hour long discussion on Marion Barber and Jerry Jones, or Ben and Skin talking Mavs ad naseum, I just will no longer listen. Plus they got rid of the best show on the lineup, Big Dick Hunter's Wild Ass Circus. It is not only humorous, but gives a real newsworthy edge most shows could never get, and probably want really. I was already very upset they let Pugs and Kelly go, but I stuck around because I loved Ben and Skin, but now, my 3 year long relationship is over. I guess it is a good thing that I did not ask it to marry me, that would have been a bad divorce, but now we will just go our seperate ways, looking back on what could have been.

Epic Fail: OSU vs. UT

It began with a fraud and now will continue that fraud to this day. While you may be thinking of why Texas didn’t get the chance at the Big 12 title and thus not the national title, I am not. I still think we got hosed on that one and will very much think that when Oklahoma gets demolished by Florida as it has in the BCS the last two years. It is funny how close we actually came to a rematch of that game, which would have been wild. Anyhow, I am more upset with another BCS selection, and it goes to the core of how the BCS was created and how it is screwing other legitimate teams to this day. It started in the early 90’s with the Bowl Coalition, or whatever it was called when it the big, now so called BCS, conferences Norte Dame wanted a way to decide a national champion. They purposely put a rule in that excluded smaller conferences from competing in the title game. This was tweaked a few times in the case that the Rose Bowl was initially left out of this and it lead two a few splits in the final polls in the 90’s. However even with it, in 2003 Oklahoma got blasted by #2 LSU in the national title after LOSING the Big 12 title game, they still maintained their #1 seed and #3 USC got a the AP vote for #1, thus a BCS #1 and an AP#1 split. But the point is this, from the beginning of any tie-in with traditional bowls, the small schools have been screwed again and again. Never mind that BYU proved in 1984 a small, non BCS school could win a national title, and never mind that Oklahoma was upset by Boise State in 2006 in maybe the greatest college football game ever and finished undefeated and did not get a chance to play for a national title. This is the point of my argument, Boise State, while going undefeated for the 2nd time in 3 years will not get to show off what they got at a big school like Texas. Instead, Texas will play Ohio State in the Fiesta Bowl, the site of the great Boise St. victory of Oklahoma. Where usually I am cautiously optimistic at a bowl game, or any big game for my teams really, I am not too concerned at all on this one, as I know Texas will just demolish Ohio State in this one. I mean, they got destroyed by USC and lost to a Penn State team that lost to Iowa, so I mean, come on, really? Texas won’t just crush OSU? I don’t even see this being close. Some are saying that if Texas wins convincingly
over Ohio State as the last two BCS National title games for OSU will indicate and if Florida just squeaks by Oklahoma, or possible even the other way around, we could have another split title with Texas getting the AP #1. But because of the big money involved for these BCS games and how the big conferences rule it, of course undefeated Boise State doesn’t get the chance. I am glad Utah did and they deserve it, but so does Boise State. Some thought Boise State didn’t deserve it two years ago and we saw how that ended up. I will just say this, I’d much rather lose to Boise State as a Texas fan than beat a horrible, undeserving Ohio State team. So thanks again BCS, not only did you screw my team, you screwed a small conference out of millions so you could continue to perpetuate the undeserved myth of the big conferences, ESPECIALLY the horrible Big 10.

You said I was gayer than the beach volleyball scene from Top Gun!

I will post more no this, but I had to take a short lunch. I just wanted to post the video and then how I feel about prop 8 and how bogus it is.

See more Jack Black videos at Funny or Die

For those of you that know me, you probably know my position on gay issues. I have written a paper that I wish I still had, where I basically just outlined why the bible doesn't explicitly state it is against it, it is a violation of our inalienable rights and that it would mean more money for states. I am glad that this issue is not quite done as it is being challenged in the courts in California and I won't really joke about the issue as I had planned, because the video kind of shows the absurdity of the ban. And I think Keith Olbermann made a great point on this show where he uses a lot of the stances I use, and even more moving was that he says that he is not one of the people that say they have a gay friend or something that lets him know the issue, because he says he is not really close to a gay person. I guess he forgot Rachel Maddow, but it was important to note because it is not a personal issue, it is civil rights issue. The point that I always try to make is that gays are the just about the last bastion, last acceptable group of people to subjugate. People would be up in arms if the same proposition say, outlawed blacks or any other minority group to get married. I won't get on a soap box to say that straight people don't respect marriage because of the divorce rate, or that many gay people have been together for years and love each other as much because that is not a valid argument. A valid argument is that we breeders have THE RIGHT to do it, whereas gays DO NOT. Say what you will about god or religion, that doesn't matter for the fact that we have a separation of church and state in this country of ours. So why not let them have the right? As a liberal, bleeding heart at that, I am very disappointed in Barack Obama's stance on it. He agrees with civil unions, which is basically the same thing except the title, but that is not good enough for me. Why are people so afraid of gay marriage? It will not devalue my marriage, because i will love my wife just as much as I do now. It wont lead to us marrying animals as some suggest. It is a human and human, not man and dog. That is ridiculous that anyone would think we would devolve to that. I think what hurt me more and I know it wasn't the end all be all that let the proposition first pass, was that while it was a record black turnout in most, if not all states this election. And Blacks voted against prop 8 in far greater numbers than any other race. They were only around 10% of the electorate, but that made somewhat of a difference. Actually, Rachel Maddow said that virtually all minorities voted more for prop 8 than whites. The largest amount of voting groups for prop 8 were (big surprise) Evangelicals, Republicans and the poor/poorly educated in that order, I think it was 85%, 80% and 73% respectively, but these numbers were stripped of race and just used other criteria. I think that liberals are trying to thwart the notion that minorities were responsible for this passing, but in all actuality, I really think minorities who did vote more for it than whites were at least partially responsible. That being said, I hope that it is repealed and the courts rule it out even though it is a constitutional change. It will be tougher now, but let us hope that all people in the state of California and eventually the US get the same, equal rights we all enjoy.

In closing, I leave you with this thought: if you believe that god made us in his image, than you need to know that god loves gays because he made gays (and rainbows), so sholdnt you love them as well?

Can we get five tickets to see Terrance and Phillip?!? NO!!!!!!

Most of you read my personal blog, but this is the story that got me thinking that I wanted to start writing about my thoughts on topics that I hear and read about. I hear them mostly on the radio, which I listen to vigorously, of course Ben and Skin, but also the NPR shows Fresh Air, Day to Day and The World. I like these NPR shows because they give you the actual news in a digestible, open and non-opinionated matter. When I want to listen to the slant I enjoy I go to Keith Olberman’s Countdown and The Rachel Maddow show. Both of which, really all of which are podcasted. Check iTunes for all of these, and the Live 105.3 website for Ben and Skin, which is more of an indulgence for me, because it is what I listen to escape the work day and laugh. But all of these shows get my mind working and get my very opinionated mind juices flowing. The kicker yesterday was the program director for Ben and Skin, Gavin “yeaaa/naaa” Spittle was really irking me. Then two of the sports show I watch or podcast daily, PTI and Around the Horn talked about the issue as well. The Sean Avery issue, if most of you haven’t heard it, was really a non-issue, but still got the sports news media in a tizzy.

Now back in my more idealistic days of my youth I would have bashed this statement for being completely sexist. And if you view it as such, I can agree. Hell, I pretty much stopped listening to a radio show because of one stupid comment someone made and made me want to punch her in the face every time I listened to her voice, so I get it. And I think that it could be construed as sexist. But beyond that, sexism is something we can mock and avoid a person for, not suspend them for it. I know the rules are different for sports and the media and the normal people like you and I. Meaning if I had said that at work in front of my entire office, I’d probably get a stern talking to and at the most extreme fired. But also the difference is I am not in the public eye, and the general public doesn’t pay my salary. That kind of goes to the core of stern belief of mine that words are words and you can only get offended as much as you let them. Now in my case with the radio personality I now hate, I was more disappointed in how ignorant said person was, not that what she said. I guess I thought more of her and the show, but I was wrong, and I made my voice heard by turning off the radio and not supporting their views anymore, the same reason I don’t watch Dog The Bounty Hunter anymore. You can be against what he said, and if you are, then write the team and say you will not support them as long as he is there and follow through with that by not being tickets or merchandise. But don’t support a league decision to suspend the player over a non-threatening, non-vulgar statement, especially in a league that values, hell, prides itself on thuggish and violent behavior on the ice. The same ice that many of the kids that they say are most “traumatized” by Avery’s statement. This basically goes to one of our countries many dichotomies, and that is violence is completely acceptable, but words are not. And in this case, not even vulgar words. That is an argument that has not been made more clear (and funny) than South Park: Bigger, Longer and Uncut, so I won’t add to it. I just think that the league should try to sanitize its league more by cleaning up its violent image before it begins its war on words.

And you thought Chemistry was boring.

My wife, best friend Ben and I got had some fun last week at Duke's Roadhouse in Bedford where I was screwed out of a $50 gift card when I got third place, well tied for it anyway, in Turkey Bowling. A steep bar tab later, I did get a consolation prize of tickets to a screening of Nobel Son and a crappy hat. I heard Ben & Skin talk about it earlier in the day, so I was enticed and wanted to see it. Well that screening was today, and I have to say it was worth the wait. Maybe not worth the disappointment of the lost gift card, but close enough.

It is a smart movie for starters. I mean, it centers around a man who wins a Nobel Prize in Chemistry if that says anything. I felt I lacked the IQ at times because it had some themes that were far beyond my comprehension. Especially with poetry and big words. Having my low intelligence, however, didn't hinder me or Ben from enjoying it. Aside from an almost perfect cast. Eliza Dushku didn't really sell me as far as performance, though if that her ass in the movie, then it is perfect, plus you also get some side/top boob action. Pretty much any movie with Alan Rickman will suck me in, but this is the best performance I have seen him in, even better than Snape you (fellow) Harry Potter nerds. His son in the film, whoever the actor is, takes the movie's best performance. From excitement, ecstasy, sheer terror and madness, he really runs the gamut of human emotions and does it with the ease and calculation of an Anthony Hopkins. I was really impressed with him and the film in general really. It was very stylishly directed, but that didn't dominate the film and the Paul Okenfold soundtrack really kept the heartbeat throughout the movie, enhanced the emotions and progressed it along nicely. I relly think anyone who likes smart comedies, action/adventure and real mind trip would love this movie. I will say it was an even better movie than Burn After Reading and is probably in the running for the best movie I have seen this year. I would really have to go back, but this movie was seriously fantastic and is what is what is right and good about independent movies. So take that Ben, you and your stripmall!

Ben & Skin + Lazer = Genius song

So for my first post, I just want to put the show that kind of inspired me to write this blog. I will try to update everyday at least, usually during lunch. This works twofold, gives me a reason to eat here with my own lunch to save money as well. But I just wanted to put my thoughts out there, since you know, I am very opinionated, even if it is a HORRIBLE stance. But listening to this show, the greatest show on radio gave me the drive to do it. So, I want to give props to Ben and Skin. Listen to their show and you won't be sorry. It is wacky and comical, but not in a Dingo and the Baby sort of way, but leaves you in stitches everyday. If you like, pop culture, some sports, Big Tex, pranks and comedy in general, you will love it.
